Other Surveys

TDC has managed numerous other survey types including on board public transport surveys, pedestrian surveys, interview surveys, vehicle occupancy surveys and customer research surveys. Experienced transport planners are involved in survey design and implementation to minimize survey costs whilst maximising data quality.

South East Queensland Public Transport Origin Destination Survey 2010

Client—Translink

Translink commissioned TDC to undertake this survey which involved over 100 field staff handing out questionnaires and counting passengers boarding and alighting trains at 123 stations. The survey ran over 19 weekdays from 6.00am to 8.30pm each day.

Waterways Survey

Client-Maritime Safety Queensland

TDC was engaged by the Sunshine Coast Council to undertake waterway activity surveys from 6.00am to 6.00pm on Easter Saturday (2011) at 11 locations across Sunshine Coast.  The survey involved 45 staff recording details of moored vessels as well as moving vessels across defined screen lines.  The survey recorded vessel classification (commercial, recreational, PWCs, and paddle craft), direction of travel, activity and vessel registration.

 

Sydney CBD Bicycle Survey

Client-Roads & Maritime Services New South Wales

TDC was commissioned to undertake bicycle counts at permanent bicycle paths in the central CBD area.  Using our VCU’s, data was recorded during peak hours of 6am to 9am and 4pm to 6pm, Monday through to Friday.
